Fireflies is inspired by the Fireflies Rising shawl by Curious Handmade.  I pictured a summer campfire under a deep midnight blue sky punctuated by the light of stars and dancing fireflies. It works up as a semi-solid with lighter colourflashes spread throughout, and it pairs wonderfully with Turning Tide.

This extra fine merino yarn is as soft as wool gets! It's super soft, squishy, and sproingy. Because of the extra "sproing", it knits up ever-so-slightly heavier than some other DK weight yarns, but you get an extra 15% in the skein.

This is the perfect go-to yarn for accessories like scarves, cowls, hats, baby items, or a special snuggly cardi or jumper. Please contact me if you'd like a larger quantity for an adult sized garment.

Yarn: Merino DK
Blend: 100% Superwash extra fine merino (sourced from South America, non-mulesed)
Weight: 115g
Meterage per skein: Approx 230m

Travelknitter yarns are all hand-dyed in East London using only professional-grade acid dyes.

I recommend that you treat the yarn kindly by hand-washing in cool water order to keep the colours looking their best.

While I do my best to capture the colours as true to life as possible, please keep in mind that computer monitors vary in how they show colours, and there will always be some variation between dye batches due to the nature of hand dyeing.

New favourite colourway

The yarn is soft and deeply coloured: this unusual colourway is my new favourite.
