This colourway is based on photos that I took during my last visit to Wineglass Bay, in the Freycinet National Park in Tasmania. The East Coast of Tasmania was my camping holiday destination as a teenager, and I went back a few years ago. Wineglass Bay is one of those amazing places that really does look picture-postcard perfect, and is well worth the steep hike to get there.
BFL Supersock is a soft, durable blend of British Bluefaced Leicester and nylon. Bluefaced Leicester is a British rare breed sheep that produces wool that is next-to-skin soft while being resistant to pilling. This is a smooth 4ply yarn that's just perfect for socks and mittens that are soft and hard-wearing.
Yarn: BFL Supersock
Blend: 75% Superwash British Bluefaced Leicester / 25% Nylon Sock
Meterage: Approx 425m/465 yards
Travelknitter yarns are all hand-dyed in East London, using only professional-grade acid dyes.
I recommend that you treat the yarn kindly by hand-washing in cool water order to keep the colours looking their best.
While I do my best to capture the colours as true to life as possible, please keep in mind that computer monitors vary in how they show colours, and there will always be some variation between dye batches due to the nature of hand dyeing.
As yet to work with the yarn but wound up and ready!
This is the second pair of socks I have made using the wonderful BFL sock yarn. Comes in such gorgeous colours- I want a drawer full!
